The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced the cancellation of ICSE Class 10 Board Exams in 2021. The board is reversing its earlier decision to defer the examination and giving students the option to take it at a later date. However, the ISC examination 2021 still stays as postponed. The board clarified these decisions in a letter sent to schools across India.
“Given the present worsening situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the CISCE has decided to cancel the ICSE (Class X) 2021 examination. The options given in the earlier circular dated 16th April 2021, now stand withdrawn. The safety and wellbeing of our students and teaching faculty is our topmost priority and of paramount interest,” the council said in a statement.
ISC will be held in 2022.
The council further directed all CISCE affiliated schools to begin the admission process for Class XI. “In addition, schools should prepare a schedule to begin online classes for the Class XI students at the earliest. The syllabus to be followed is the ISC 2021 syllabus,” notice added.
Candidates should note that the status of ISC 2021 examination is still remains the same. The council will closely watch the covid-19 situation in the country and issue a final decision on the conduct of the class 12 examinations will be taken by the first week of June 2021.
